STEP BY STEP: HOW THE PROJECT EGGS BECOME COLORFUL PARROTS.
THE DEVELOPMENT PHASES
The parrot sits a little impatiently on his four project eggs; he would like to feed the chicks. And we feel the same way, we would love to do everything at the same time and plant small trees. Nice one thing after the other. And to keep an overview, we have defined the following project phases.
PHASE 1: DAS EI
DIE EIER WERDEN BEBRÜTET
NGO-GRÜNDUNG - PROJEKTPLANUNG - ANKOMMEN UND VERNETZEN
In dieser ersten Entwicklungsphase haben wir bereits unsere NGO (Non-Governmental-Organization), den Verein Munay Amazonas mit Sitz in der Schweiz in Hausen a.A. gegründet und sind aktuell fleissig an der Projektplanung und natürlich am Fundraising. Ab Mai 2024 ist unsere Vorort Crew in Ecuador in der Provinz Napo und beginnt mit dem Networking, nistet sich ein, lernt, sammelt Erfahrungen und baut Beziehungen auf. Dazu gehört auch eine ausführliche Analyse der Region mit all Ihren Akteuren und den wirtschaftlichen und sozialen Bedingungen der verschiedenen Gemeinschaften in und um Tena.
PHASE 2: DAS KÜKEN
AUFZUCHT DER KÜKEN
NICHTHOLZPRODUKTE–VERNETZUNG-GRUNDSTÜCK - UMWELTBILDUNG
Mit dem Erreichen der Meilensteine aus der ersten Entwicklungsphase sind auch schon die Küken geschlüpft. Wir können mit der Aufforstung beginnen. Gleichzeitig wird das Low-Impact Haus mit den Gäste-Cabañas gebaut und der Permagarten designt (gestaltet) und angelegt. Dabei werden wir auch schon Projekte für Kinder organisieren und somit die Lebensschule spriessen lassen.
Eine zentrale Rolle in dieser Phase spielt der Aufbau von Beziehungen zur lokalen Bevölkerung, Umweltschutzorganisationen, Gleichgesinnten, zu Schulen und Verwaltungen. Wir fördern die Vernetzung und den Austausch zwischen ähnlichen und sich ergänzenden Projekten. Damit verbunden ist das Sammeln von Wissen für die Umsetzung der einzelnen Teilprojekte.
Die ersten Produkte aus unserem geschützten Wald können gewonnen werden. Es beginnt die Projektplanung für die Nichtholzprodukte, deren Vermarktung und der direkten Lieferkette nach Europa.
PHASE 3: DER PAPAGEI
DER PAPAGEI FLIEGT
AUFFORSTUNG – PERMAGARTEN -HAUSBAU
Nun sind die Küken ausgewachsen, fliegen frei über den Baumwipfeln und entfalten ihr ganzes Potential als Hüterinnen und Beschützer des Amazonas Regenwaldes. Unser Ziel ist es, dass ab dieser dritten Phase Munay Amazonas durch den Verkauf der Nichtholzprodukte selbsttragend ist. Wir sind voller Ideen, was mittelfristig alles aus Munay Amazonas entstehen darf: Durch die Erfahrung und die Vernetzung ergeben sich neue Möglichkeiten für den Ausbau der Aufforstung auf weitere Grundstücke, zum Beispiel durch die Finanzierung über den Klimaausgleich von Unternehmen. Die Lebensschule entwickelt sich zu einer ganzheitlichen Bildung für Kinder und Jugendliche, bietet Workshops für Studierende und Weiterbildungen für Erwachsene an. In Zusammenarbeit mit Universitäten möchten wir ein Monitoring der Bodenfruchtbarkeit durchführen und den Impact der Aufforstung und des sozialen Engagements aufzeigen.

Munay Amazonas consists of four complementary sub-projects. Forest Conservation, Livelihood & Food security, biodiversity and education. Only through interaction between the environment and society is rainforest protection viable and sustainable.
RECOVERY
STRENGTHENING THE LUNGS OF THE WORLD
Where it is possible, sensible and sustainable.
Reforestation near the equator has the greatest potential for CO2 compensation. Due to the year-round growth phase and the ideal climatic conditions, biomass production and thus the incorporation of CO2 into the plants is greatest in this region.
The way it works in the long term.
We reforest land sustainably, taking into account local indigenous knowledge and the latest scientific findings. We take into account the entire biodiversity, i.e. not only species diversity, but also genetic diversity and ecosystem diversity, in order to ensure maximum resilience of the new "primeval forests".
NON-TIMBER PRODUCTS
GIFTS OF THE FOREST
The rainforest harbours a huge treasure trove of health-promoting plant products. Sangre de Drago helps to heal the skin, wayusa energises, cinnamon brings warmth and strengthens digestion. These are just a few of the many wonderful examples. Collecting and processing these valuable products from the forest creates a livelihood that we want to strengthen with our project on the local, national and international market.
In the long term, we are building a direct supply chain from the forest in Ecuador to the "Chuchichäschtli" in Switzerland. Through fair trading conditions and direct access to the market, we enable families to earn a living by collecting non-timber products without having to cut down trees or sell land.
PERMAFARM
PEOPLE & NATURE IN HARMONY
Self-sufficiency, permaculture, forest gardening, agroforestry: the terms are on everyone's lips. But what does it take for us to grow what we consume? We want to restore the fertility of the soil and benefit from the interactions and protective effects between individual species through mixed cultivation. To do this, we must observe and copy nature, act in harmony with it and adapt to it. We give back in gratitude what we receive. This creates an equilibrium that balances itself towards eternity ∞
In addition to the perma garden with a few supplementary farm animals, the Munay Amazonas permafarm also includes a house built from rapidly regenerating natural materials. Energy is generated from solar power and environmentally friendly water and wastewater management as well as a minimal-waste strategy round off the concept of this low-impact way of life.

A PARADISE FOR CHILDREN
The "bandas chiquitas" of this world, the children of all of us, can change everything, they can create whatever they dream of. So let them grow up in an environment of unlimited learning opportunities, where their talents can grow and their wonder never ceases.
Munay Amazonas provides this environment with the perma garden, the animals, the forest and a wide variety of experiences. We connect home-schooling families, state and public schools. We learn together on projects, organise workshops and respect the life stages and needs of each individual child.
Let's never forget to learn! With this in mind, the Munay Amazon School of Life will continue to develop. Our vision is to offer environmental education - education on reforestation and environmental protection for very different interest groups: Students, environmentalists and everyone who wants to make this world a little better.
