Where it is possible, sensible and sustainable.

Reforestation near the equator has the greatest potential for CO2 compensation. Due to the year-round growth phase and the ideal climatic conditions, biomass production and thus the incorporation of CO2 into the plants is greatest in this region.

The way it works in the long term.

We reforest land sustainably, taking into account local indigenous knowledge and the latest scientific findings. We take into account the entire biodiversity, i.e. not only species diversity, but also genetic diversity and ecosystem diversity, in order to ensure maximum resilience of the new "primeval forests".

The rainforest harbours a huge treasure trove of health-promoting plant products. Sangre de Drago helps to heal the skin, wayusa energises, cinnamon brings warmth and strengthens digestion. These are just a few of the many wonderful examples. Collecting and processing these valuable products from the forest creates a livelihood that we want to strengthen with our project on the local, national and international market.

In the long term, we are building a direct supply chain from the forest in Ecuador to the "Chuchichäschtli" in Switzerland. Through fair trading conditions and direct access to the market, we enable families to earn a living by collecting non-timber products without having to cut down trees or sell land.

Self-sufficiency, permaculture, forest gardening, agroforestry: the terms are on everyone's lips. But what does it take for us to grow what we consume? We want to restore the fertility of the soil and benefit from the interactions and protective effects between individual species through mixed cultivation. To do this, we must observe and copy nature, act in harmony with it and adapt to it. We give back in gratitude what we receive. This creates an equilibrium that balances itself towards eternity ∞

In addition to the perma garden with a few supplementary farm animals, the Munay Amazonas permafarm also includes a house built from rapidly regenerating natural materials. Energy is generated from solar power and environmentally friendly water and wastewater management as well as a minimal-waste strategy round off the concept of this low-impact way of life.

Munay Amazonas provides this environment with the perma garden, the animals, the forest and a wide variety of experiences. We connect home-schooling families, state and public schools. We learn together on projects, organise workshops and respect the life stages and needs of each individual child.
